The Project And Our Charitable Efforts

Thank you for visiting this page! Below is information on our project and charitable efforts!

The Stavrou Method is donating 20% of the net profits from its Corporate Revenues AND "The Stavrou Method: A 12 Week Day By Day Guide To Health, Wellness And Fat Loss For ALL Levels!" with the goal of raising $100K between four organizations:

- The Scarborough Hospital Foundation
- York University (Faculty of Health)
- Centennial College (the School of Community and Health Studies and the School of Communications, Media and Design)
- YMCA

The Stavrou Method (The Package) - is a comprehensive and unique 11 book/85 online video/daily accountability package featuring The Stavrou Diet. It also has contributions from four other experts in the area of health and wellness. In total we have a combined experience of over 120 years in this important area!

Why we chose to support these organizations?

The Scarborough Hospital Foundation

I felt compelled to contribute to causes that I'm passionate about.
'A little background on my family:
- My father had a heart attack and a triple by-pass in 2006.
- He had a stroke in 2008.
- He was also diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009.
Unfortunately, the cancer spread to his prostate, liver, kidneys and eventually to his bones. It took his life on Monday March 7th of 2011. With each illness my father dealt with, he stayed at The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) at 3050 Lawrence Ave. E.

Thankfully, the staff at TSH made each stay a comfortable one. We very much appreciated their efforts in helping him!'

York University
I chose York University for their philosophy on health and wellness as stated on their website:
'Our vision in the Faculty of Health is to educate future global leaders who will redefine and advance health and human science. We believe the solution to the crisis in health care is to keep more people healthier, longer.

Towards this goal, our emphasis is on prevention first, then care when needed, to make health and health care sustainable. This is reflected in our course and program offering, our research and our commitment to community both local and global.'

York University is one of the 16 partners in Connected Health and Wellness Project: A New People-Centred, Technology-Enabled Health & Wellness System. This is a global project on the preventative side of health. More info. on this project can be found here:

Research has shown that 80% of illnesses/diseases can be prevented from happening in the first place or at least minimized by following a sound lifestyle & weight management program. 5% of Health Care Funding is spent on the preventative side while 95% is spent on the treatment side.

Harvey Skinner, Dean of the Faculty of Health at York U, at a keynote address in Sept 2012 'First Health, Then Medicine.' presented valuable insight on the current challenges faced by our health case system and the leadership role the Faculty of Health at York University is playing in being part of the solution.

Centennial College
Centennial College is also one of the 16 partners in Connected Health and Wellness Project: A New People-Centred, Technology-Enabled Health & Wellness System.

"If it wasn't for my education at both York University and Centennial College, I would NOT be where I am today!"

YMCA
My father suffered from multiple health complications, including colon cancer, which took his life in 2009. I also lost both of my maternal grandparents to cancer within three years of each other. As leading a healthy lifestyle can help to prevent cancer and other illness, I chose to support the YMCA's approach to teach children and youth of the benefits of a living a healthy lifestyle to ensure that they grow up to become healthy adults. This fact, combined with my passion for physical fitness, mental health and the well-being of the mind, body and spirit, inspired me to create The Stavrou and Rombis Healthy Living Fund at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. It is my way of having the memory of my father and grandparents live on while raising funds for children and youth to live a healthier and well-rounded lifestyle.
